As Public Information/Marketing and Communications Manager, I lead all communications efforts to showcase impact and service to the community. This includes managing media relations, pitching stories, coordinating interviews, facilitating information requests, and live-streaming press conferences. I also highlight team member contributions through video and photo storytelling, share critical updates on incidents, programs, and initiatives across digital platforms, produce newsletters, and foster collaboration with government, nonprofit, community, faith-based, and private sector partners. The examples below illustrate these efforts in action.

Production: Videography/Editing/Interview

As the Public Information Officer for the Denver Agency for Human Rights & Community Partnerships, I oversee all communications efforts for its programs and initiatives. The agency's Financial Empowerment Division provides financial coaching to individuals and families living in or below the poverty line, helping them achieve their financial goals. This authentic piece about a single mother who overcome many challenges and obstacles thanks in part to the guidance of her financial coach, becoming a first-time homeowner, aimed at highlighting how the program can support community members through their journey to financial wellbeing.

Storytelling

During my time as Public Information Officer at the Orlando Police Department, I leveraged my editing and storytelling skills to produce impactful content that strengthened community trust and highlighted the department’s mission. I was the first communications professional in the agency to use body-worn camera footage as a storytelling tool—promoting transparency, showcasing the dedication of officers in the field, and reinforcing morale within the department. This innovative approach aligned with the department’s priority to protect and serve, while also building stronger connections with the community. The following video illustrates this effort, capturing an officer and a community member working together to save a stranger’s life.

Media Relations: News Conference Coordination

During my time at the Orlando Police Department and my current position at the Denver Agency for Human Rights & Community Partnerships, I have coordinated countless news conferences, from critical incidents to providing information about initiatives. The example seen here is reference a news conference held at the only open-air amphitheater built into a rock structure the world, Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre about recent updates increasing accessible seating for visitors living with a mobile disability by the agency's Disability Rights Division. All local media outlets attended this conference.

As Public Information Officer, I develop briefings, talking points, and news releases for the agency, city leadership, and partners. The following release highlights the agency’s commitment to energy efficiency and climate action by supporting nonprofits with funding, providing education, and encouraging environmentally sustainable practices, ensuring that cost savings can be reinvested into their core missions.

Social Media Content

I manage all agency social media accounts, overseeing content strategy, copy development, and engagement. Under my leadership, the platforms have seen exponential growth, including a 132% increase in views and engagement on the Denver HRCP Facebook page, which generated over 25,000 views in August 2025 alone. The following post, with nearly 8,000 views, highlights the results of a targeted communications campaign promoting the agency’s Back to School Festival. Through these efforts, we welcomed more than 6,000 community members, partnered with nearly 100 organizations and city agencies to provide free resources, and distributed over 3,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, making it Denver’s largest back-to-school giveaway in 2025.
